Friends and family payments are free for everyone. However, they do require a Yotta Pay app to be installed on both devices. To request a payment:
Open the Yotta Pay app from your Home Screen.
Click Receive from the Home tab, type in the payment amount, a payment reference, and choose if you want to generate a QR code for a face-to-face payment or share a link for remote payment.
The payment screen will appear once the payer scans the QR code or clicks the payment link.
On the payment page, the payer will see all the entries, including the requester’s name, phone number, payment account, and reference.
To proceed with the payment, the payer needs to click Pay and authorise the payment from their banking app. Once authorised the payment is done.
If you would like to make a payment:
Click Pay from the home tab.
Now you can either scan a QR code or click Pay by phone number and choose the payee from your contacts. If you choose the second option, you will see a Yotta Pay logo next to each person who has the Yotta Pay app installed and could receive an instant payment now. Please note that for those contacts who do not have a Yotta Pay app installed yet, you can send an invitation to download the app and receive a secure payment from you.
Select the contact you want to pay to and proceed by confirming the payee.
Type in your amount and reference, click Next and authorise with your banking app. Once authorised the payment is done.
